As of September 12, 2018 and patch 8.18, League of Legends, one of the most famous PvP MOBA games out there just got a new PvE mode, called Odyssey, which marks LoL’s second PvE mode ever!
This announcement came before our eyes through an awesome animated video posted by Riot on YouTube, which you can check out below!
As we can see in the video, Jinx is inviting us players to tag along with her team in a new adventure, which will require up to 5 players in order to combine their efforts to rescue Ziggs!
As you probably remember from last year’s Star Guardian Invasion event, the new League PvE mode, Odyssey, will have five different difficulty levels as well, namely Intro, Normal, Hard, Expert and Onslaught. This will allow you to practice and gradually increase the difficulty until you feel ready to delve into the hardest one. On top of this, you still receive Augments from completing lower difficulty runs, which can also be used at higher difficulty modes as well, which is a great incentive to play it at any level!
The Augments, which can be obtained for a total of 5 slots and 15 Augments per character, give you a tremendous advantage, and can also be equipped between games.
New League of Legends Skins
More so, as an added bonus to the whole new LoL PvE mode, by playing it, you’ll be able to unlock these new exclusive skins, for the Morning Star crew:
- Odyssey Malphite;
- Odyssey Ziggs;
- Odyssey Sona;
- Odyssey Yasou;
- Odyssey Jinx;
- Odyssey Kayn – Legendary skin.
All of the above skins cost 1350 RP each, apart from Kayn’s, which is a legendary skin, and costs 1820 RP. On top of these, by playing the new LoL PvE mode you’ll also be able to unlock new emotes, icons and missions rewards!
However, and unfortunately, the catch is that while this new PvE mode is fun to play and comes with a lot of rewards, it’s only available for a limited time, as of yesterday, September 12, up until October 8.
New Reward System for Recruiting Friends
On top of all of this, along with the event, a brand new rewards system has been introduced into the game, designed to reward players who bring their friends to the game, in the form of a “recruit a friend” method. In order to be eligible for your reward, however, you’ll need to invite someone who hasn’t played League of Legends since July 11.
Once that’s done, you can take your freshly recruited friend and play the new Odyssey mode together and complete recruitment missions. Once all of them are finished, both you and your friend will each unlock your own reward.
Although this might be in a bit of a gray area, if you can’t find a friend or any person at all to recruit in order to get your rewards, which also meets the requirements of not playing since July 11, you can always ask someone to play on an older account of yours, if you happen to have one. The issue here can be that Riot deems it as account sharing, which, well, technically it is, and could potentially ban that account. However, if you find yourself in that situation, you can always check out a website that specializes in LoL unban assistance.
Now, in regards to the reward you and your friend will be getting from the recruitment and playing together, that’s going to come in the form of one of the new skins we discussed above, so make sure not to purchase them all before you play with a recruited friend!
So, all in all, you have about 3 weeks, until October 8, to enjoy the new LoL PvE mode called Odyssey: Extraction, and on top of that, get your rewards! That being said, we’ll cut it short here so you guys can go out there and enjoy it! Have fun!
