With the new 7.14 patch comes a new meta. The previous patch, 7.14, had introduced a significant buff to Duskblade of Draktharr and made it a core item on anybody. Akali, Draven, Talon, you name it. With how overloaded it was, it was quickly nerfed and that alone is the core change of this patch. It also builds out of Caulfield’s Warhammer and a Dirk instead of a BF sword.
Now the meta shifts towards tanks. With the nerfs on anti-tanks such as Fiora and Caitlyn, along with buffs to Yorick, Taric, Singed, and Rammus, not having tanks on your team (not just one, but 2-3 normally) could lose a game for you.
But you guys might not know what the patch is yet. Let me give you a rundown of the highlights. As you know, Duskblade was nerfed. Now, let’s talk individuals.
Chogath’s E is now a real ability that does extra damage for the next 3 auto-attacks. Along with his Q’s mana cost being lowered and his W silence being buffed, he is one hell of a god-tier champion. If you play any champion that doesn’t stack health, expect this monster to be running at you from a bush with his Righteous Glory and devouring you, doing even more damage if you’re trying to hide in the middle of your team due to his Gargoyle’s Stoneplate.
Just ban him, it’s not worth the pain of dealing with that scary half-spider half-demon champion. But if you do want to learn him so that you can abuse his insane damage and tankiness, buy a smurf account for yourself and get to learn him while stomping some and getting stomped others; but hey it’s not your LP right?
A new item for tanks, Bramble vest, was also added. This item alone, for 900 gold, reflects damage and applies grievous wounds, making it an amazing buy. Thornmail itself is not shabby either. It’s meant to give a faster solution to a fed ADC rather than needing over 2000 gold.
Another tank item, Randuin’s Omen, was also buffed. A new build path was introduced along with the item providing more health, and now the item is more gold efficient than ever. Expect more divers and tanks to use this item to CC you along with mowing you over, botlane players out there!
That’s most of the changes for this patch, 7.14. Other few things that were changed was that you can smite medium-sized krugs now, as well as Ivern receiving a range nerf to his brushmaker. You can also queue with more people in Flex; restrictions were removed.
And last but not least, get ready for 3 more Pool-Party chromas, and this times it’s Graves, Leona, and Lulu! Yup, that tasted purple!
Buy a league account and you too can play on all these new changes.
